I'm a morning person. I love waking up and starting my day just before the sun peeks over the horizon. The crisp morning air gives me energy, it helps me to put things into perspective. I can sit there completely still as I watch the dark blue sky turn into an array of colors. In that moment, I have time to think of my goals.. and one thing I can do that day to push myself further towards them.
I'm down to my final fews weeks living in New Zealand and have been thinking about how life changing this past year has been for me. I've had the chance to spend more time in nature - surrounded by things that make me feel good: the ocean, trees, and most importantly - the sunshine. I practice yoga and exercise daily, write in my journal, listen to music endlessly, and of course my camera comes along for all of it.
Theres something about this country. The air - so fresh and water - so pure. I'm 23 years old and I would say I've been around a fair bit, but nothing compares to here. The people here are different than Americans. I have not once met someone who wasn't friendly to me. Everyone is just so laid back.
I have to say - the food here is amazing! One of my absolute favorite things to do on the weekends is go find a new cafe to have breakfast or lunch at. Living in this country for the past year has really sparked my appreciation for food. It is so important to me to nourish my body with proper nutrients. I love experimenting in the kitchen with different recipes. I think its safe to say that breakfast food takes the lead! I love making smoothie bowls, overnight-oats, bliss balls, you name it.
Along with following a healthy + balanced diet - I really enjoy staying active. I practice yoga 3-4 times a week along with resistance and cardio. Not many things can beat the feeling I get from exercising. Its truly such a passion of mine and I have definitely made it a lifestyle. :)
